Born in Berlin in 1968, Jerszy Seymour grew up in the multicultural landscape of London  as an inte- gral part of the street scene creating club flyers and as a dj  in the underground club scene. In 1991 he went to the Royal College of Art where he developed his interest in 3D objects and sculpture. After leaving the college he travelled and lived around the world during which he  fermented  the ideas that would characterize his design approach.Whilst in Milan he started his own experimental productions including  ’House in a Box’ in 2002, ’Scum’ in 2003 and ‘Tape’ in 2003. In parallel he has also designed  for companies such as Magis, Kreo, Moulinex, Covo,  IDEE, Sputnik, and Smeg. His work has been exhibited  in the Design Museum in London, the Vitra Design Museum in Basel and Berlin, the Palais De Tokyo in Paris and  Gallery Kreo in Paris. His work is held in the permanent collection on the ‘Fondation National de Art Contemporain’ France and the ´Musee d´Art Grand-Duc Jean´ Luxembourg.
He has a given lectures at the Domus Academy in Milan, the Royal College of Art in London, and the Vitra Design Workshops in France. In 2000 he was awarded the Dedalus Award for European Designer of the Year,and in 2003 the Taro Okamoto Memorial Award for Contemporary Art. Jerszy currently works and lives in Berlin.
