Mikko Laakkonen was born in Finland in 1974. After training as a musical instrument maker he studied design at University of arts and Design Helsinki.

After several years of working at design offices Mikko Laakkonen founded Studio Mikko Laakkonen in 2004. 

Mikko Laakkonen works with various international clients.
Projects are mainly in the field of furniture design, product design or interior architecture. 

Mikko has participated in several International exhibitions including Saunabus exhibitions 2002,  Rehti exhibitions at the Milan furniture fair 2005, 2007 and Helsinki Design Week 2005.
