Santina Bonini.
Doctor of Architecture, (first-class honours, University of Architecture, Florence, Italy). She is a Founding Member of design-bs.com, established in Milan in 1990, a design consultancy team dedicated to interior design for commercial spaces and product design. The company conducts intensive research on market development, social evolutions, innovation on technologies and materials, creating a rigorous, innovative and progressive method of working.
Her company has worked on diversified products and design related areas with several firms, such as Bic, Colombo Design, Covo, Gedy, LG Chemicals, LG Electronics, Rede-Guzzini, Viceversa, Rex-Electrolux. Her work has been published in books and magazines, in Europe, USA and Asia, and has been exhibited in different countries all over the world. Some of her works have obtained international awards: “Arctic” -bathroom collection, Gedy, 1994- has been selected for the exhibition “Mutant Material in Contemporary Design” (MOMA, New York, 1995) and entered the permanent collection of MOMA in 1997; “Ludus”, Colombo Design, 1995 and “Trivet”, Viceversa, 1994 were selected by the Design Yearbook among the best European products.
In 1998 “Trivet” was selected among the USA’s 50 best products. Her interest for design research, theory and innovation draw her to organize and participate at conferences, symposium and lectures in several countries, and collaborate with Universities and postgraduate institutes. Her passion for Asia moved her in Korea in 1996, and Hong Kong later on After co-founding DADO, Domus Academy Design Office, she is currently its Managing and Art Director. |
