Both Designers and Architects. After graduating in Japan, at Tama Art University in Tokyo, Shinobu, and at Tsukuba University, Setsu, they moved to Milan where they have been working between Milan and Tokyo as consultants for important companies. Their work has been published and exhibited through Europe and Japan and has received several awards. Some pieces are today part of the permanent collection at the museum of Contemporary Art in Munich. Shinobu works also as a graphic designer and is involved in marketing activities, specialism that she developed during the time spent at CBS Sony. Setsu is also a Visiting Lecturer in Milan at the Domus Academy and at the Istituto Europeo di Design, and in Tokyo at the Tama Art University. Designers and architects born and educated in Japan but now living and working in Milan for many years. In 1997 Setsu and Shinobu ITO opened Studio Ito Design and today provide consulting to many well known companies both in Japan and Europe. Their client list includes: Covo, De Padova, Edra, Fiam Italia, felicerossi, Guzzini, NAVA, Richard Ginori, Colle-Vilca, Swarovski, Ritzenhoff, Tiffany, Sony CP Laboratories, Hitachi, Sharp, Toshiba, Canon, Mitsubishi, TDK, ixc and Toyo kitchen & living. One style, their style, innovative and dynamic with fluid forms the fruit of their complementary talents and of the combination of their experience in Italy with their Japanese culture. A comprehensive approach to design that encompasses areas from graphics to packaging, from architecture to interior design, from decorative objects to electronics. Setsu and Shinobu have received numerous recognitions for their work that has been published and exhibited across Europe and in Japan with some of their pieces being included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Munich.
